However, roles and opportunities in Machine Learning are often misunderstood and taken for granted. So, we decided to talk to someone who has learnt as well taught at Machine Learning at IIT and is now practising Machine Learning at one of the leading software giants, Google. This discussion will not only entail what Machine Learning stands for but also explore ways to specialise in the field.
About the speaker:
An IIT Bombay Alum, Dr Ashish Tendulkar is a Machine Learning Specialist at Google, working on user acquisition, episode mining, recommendation and ranking and transaction fraud detection for Google Pay. He’s been an assistant professor at IIT Madras where he extensively researched on Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Text mining, Web and Social media mining along with teaching innumerable graduate and undergraduate students. He has previously worked with Media.Net, Persistent Systems and Reliance Industries.
